WHAT’S THE ONE ITEM IN YOUR WARDROBE RIGHT NOW THAT YOU WEAR AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK?
The one item in my wardrobe that I have been shamelessly wearing at LEAST once a week, would be a Midi Kaftan by Nigerian brand called Fia Factory; I have worn it casually, formally and almost as a robe/nighty for the past year and a half and still get compliments and threats of theft from family and friends.
A TIMELESS PIECE THAT YOU DON’T REGRET BUYING?
A timeless piece I purchased in 2014 are a pair of Isabel Marant Gladiator Sandals I purchased at Harvey Nichols and it goes with most outfits and definitely transcends trends it costs a pretty penny, more than I normally would spend, but I am happy I made the purchase.
IF YOUR WERE TO PUT TOGETHER THE PERFECT ALL DAY LOOK, HAIRSTYLE INCLUDED – WHICH OF THE HOTTEST ITEMS WOULD YOU INCLUDE AND WHY?
There is a  picture of Kahlana Brown in an all white ensemble; it’s pretty clean and simple, but there are so many ways you can wear the bustier and jeans and for me, that’s a perfect all day outfit. It’s chic, sexy, timeless, stylish, versatile and effortless!
TELL US ONE THING THAT PEOPLE MAY NOT KNOW ABOUT STYLISTS AND WHAT THEY DO?
Something people should definitely know about me, as a stylist is the amount of work, time and knowledge I put into my business. People only get to see the glamorous side and think it must be a hobby or side gig, but for me it is my livelihood and my only source of income and I take pride in it!
WHAT’S YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH YOUR HAIR?
I have a love, love relationship with my hair, I love wearing it short and funky. I get bored easily with my looks, so I sometimes grow it out and then wake up one day and shave it or color it; or sometimes I just wear braids. I have been natural since I was 18-years-old and now I’m in my mid 30s; I am not attached to my hair, hence its easy to cut-off and then grow back. I love the versatility of my texture and how each style, colors or cut changes my look entirely.
THE WILDEST HAIRSTYLE THAT YOU’VE EVER HAD?
My wildest hairstyle would be a mohawk when it wasn’t posh to have short or natural hair.
YOUR FAVOURITE HAIRSTYLE TO DATE?
My strawberry blonde hair easy to maintain and loved how I looked.
A LOCAL HAIR STYLISTÂ WE SHOULD ALL KNOW?
Bernard Smiles an amazing hairstylist, who’s both – versatile and adventurous.
WHAT’S ON YOUR FASHION RADAR IN TERMS OF TRENDS FOR 2019?
Unfortunately, I don’t do trends; I curate pieces to fit individuals. I might mix and match items from the 20s era with something from the 90s and make it work or something traditional and modern. It’s about style and not so much about trends for me.
